A water spray system is an automatic or manual actuated fixed pipe system connected to a water supply and equipped with water spray nozzles designed to provide a specific water discharge and distribution over the protected surfaces or area.
Water spray systems are considered effective for any one or a combination of the following:
- Extinguishment of fire
- Control of burning
- Exposure protection
- Prevention of fire
Medium velocity spray water systems are controlled burning. High velocity spray water systems provide extinguishment.
